Statewide Political Reporter: WWMT has an exciting opportunity for a Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) who would be our statewide political reporter. This person would be based in Lansing, our state capitol, and produce daily statewide content for our three Sinclair stations in Michigan. The ideal candidate is someone who can enterprise story ideas and is a political  news junkie who isn't afraid to ask tough questions. You'll work daily with our Lansing-based photographer, but we'd like you to also have the ability to shoot and edit on occasion if needed.  Your responsibilities include reporting, enterprising story ideas, developing contacts, and producing daily content on a variety of platforms including web, social media, in addition to broadcast. 

Skills and Experience:

• Sharp news judgment 


• Must be able to develop contacts at the legislature and other local/state agencies


• Ability to tell an NPPA story


• Strong communication skills


• Excellent technical skills


• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment


• Ability to work well independently 


• Must have and maintain a valid license and a good driving record 

Requirements and Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years reporting experience


• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or related field 


• Experience with live shots


• Experience with LiveU is a plus
