Join Our Team as a Weekend Meteorologist/Reporter at KECI!
Are you passionate about weather and storytelling? KECI is looking for an energetic, skilled Weekend Meteorologist/Reporter to deliver dynamic weather coverage on-air and across digital platforms, while also reporting three days a week on impactful local stories.
This is more than just forecasting, it’s your chance to be the face of Montana’s weekend weather coverage and grow your on-air presence in both weather and news.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the weekend weathercast: Forecast, produce and present engaging, informative weather segments that go beyond the basics.
- Be a trusted voice during critical moments: Issue weather warnings, create compelling visuals, and go live in the field during severe events.
- Tell stories that matter: Report 3 days a week, pitch unique story ideas, and help drive impactful storytelling.
- Engage your audience: Use social media and digital tools to expand your reach and connect with viewers in real-time.
What We’re Looking For:
- A strong storyteller who connects with viewers and makes complex information easy to understand.
- A self-starter who thrives on live reporting, especially in active, developing weather situations.
- In-depth forecasting knowledge with a commitment to accuracy and viewer safety.
- Excellent writing, communication, and newsroom collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in meteorology or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Previous on-air meteorology experience preferred.
- Familiarity with weather systems and digital production tools is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Why Join Us?
At KECI, you’ll work in one of the most beautiful regions of the country — with mountains, seasons, and plenty of weather to cover. You’ll also join a collaborative newsroom that values creativity, curiosity, and journalistic integrity. This is a great opportunity for a meteorologist who wants to build their brand and make a real impact.
