We are seeking a Supervising Producer, Sports to lead the overall strategy, development, and growth of our sports podcast portfolio. The ideal candidate will have an impressive track record of producing highly engaging and entertaining shows, particularly across digital channels (podcasts, YouTube, etc.) working directly with high-profile talent. They will have a strong understanding of what audiences are seeking across digital platforms, and how to work alongside producers and talent to translate that into engaging content. They should possess strong management and leadership skills, be an effective team communicator and collaborator, and have experience working directly with senior leadership on strategic initiatives. Strong editorial judgement, deep knowledge of the sports media landscape, and a passion for trends and tapping into cultural moments across sports and entertainment, will be necessary.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall creative, content development, and ongoing production of sports programming
- Provide direction on content, day-to-day production logistics, editorial, talent development and management, staffing, and budgeting
- Manage and mentor a team of producers working on a portfolio of shows, providing guidance and feedback, fostering a collaborative work environment
- Regularly provide creative feedback on show content to talent, producers, and editors
- Analyze show metrics, competitors, and content trends to help inform editorial decisions
- Develop and execute a roadmap of creative content strategies that drive long-term, sustainable audiences
- Collaborate with senior leaders across production, social, sales, and marketing to develop strategic initiatives and growth tactics
- Execute an efficient pre-production and post-production process, ensuring all teams are aligned and working effectively
- Ideate on potential talent and new show ideas to expand portfolio; lead the content development and launch of new shows
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to effectively execute all brand campaigns
- Collaborate with social team on creating engaging social content derived from talent and programming
- Develop new methods of driving revenue to programming, including events, subscriptions, and more
- Stay informed on the sports media and digital content space at large, ensuring Sinclair, Inc. always stays ahead of the game
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8+ years producing compelling long-form talk content, ideally in a digital space (podcasts, YouTube, etc.)
- Expert understanding of quality, engaging content and audience consumption across long-form and short-form mediums
- Strong understanding of best practices across YouTube, podcast, and social media platforms
- Experience leading a team of producers overseeing a portfolio of shows
- Experience managing and coaching high-profile talent, maintaining a professional demeanor while maximizing their skillsets
- An independent self-starter and a problem solver, able to push the team forward while anticipating obstacles
- A creative outside-the-box thinker, ideating new ways to engage audiences across a variety of platforms
- Understanding of in-person, remote, and live productions
- Extremely well organized, able to manage projects at various stages simultaneously
- Strong passion for sports, an understanding of the news cycle, and keen editorial
- Understanding of production editing tools (Adobe Creative Suite)
- Flexibility to travel, and work mornings, nights, and/or weekends as projects call for

The base salary compensation range for this role is $120,000 to $140,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
