KATU/KUNP is looking for a Director for our Newscasts. We are looking for a creative team player who can direct newscasts and lifestyle shows in collaboration with producers and talent. Previous directing experience is necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Direct/TD assigned newscasts and local programing productions using Ignite production automation. Knowledge of the Ignite production software is not necessary but, is preferred
- Working knowledge of Avid iNews, Media Central and Media Composer is preferred
- Working knowledge of both Cryron Lyric and Prime software a plus
- Create, manage and edit graphics using Chyron Axis and Camio Asset Manager
- Operation of camera equipment, audio mixer and graphics playout machines
- Supervise and direct studio production staff when necessary
- Coordinate with Director/Floor Director on microphone assignment, staging and lighting for various local programs
- Maintain production studio and control room
- Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned, which may include website contribution
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience Directing and TDing newscasts
- Knowledge of production standards and equipment
- Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure
- Typing and good spelling skills necessary
- Ability to read and write, college degree preferred
- Must be able to lift & position 40 pound lighting instruments
