Director of QA and Release Engineering - 6567

Bally Sports’ mission is to build a transformative, participatory sports platform, anchored by the most exclusive and relevant live professional games, that provides fans a year-round opportunity to engage with content and communities they are most passionate about. We are looking for a QA and release engineering professional to lead and grow a scalable QA organization that delivers software that is both high quality and fast to market. You will report directly to the VP of Engineering



Bally Sports Director of QA and Release Engineering Responsibilities


  • Responsible for leading all quality assurance, test automation and release engineering related activities across multiple device platforms.

  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Management, and Operations to ensure products are delivered with high standards of quality and reliability.

  • Expand the team by recruiting and onboarding high performing QA Analysts, as well as manage resource augmentation with third parties as necessary.

  • Play a key role in troubleshooting, triaging, and diagnosing production issues.



  • 5+ years’ experience in a technical management role responsible for growing a QA team.

  • 10+ years’ in software testing, with a track record of increasing responsibility.

  • Highly organized, reliable, with consistent follow-through, and are someone who provides regular communication within the team and across departments to provide clarity on expectations, and visibility on status.

  • Have a drive for achieving excellence in release engineering, automation, and quality, through solving complex problems, taking ownership, and motivating others.

  • Strong technical experience working with app technologies, video streaming, subscription systems and platform integrations

  • Passion for sports

The Company is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base compensation range for this role is $170,000 to $175,000 and this position is eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance,  health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan. Please note that the compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for Colorado and New York City based hires only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules as well as the NYC Salary Transparency Laws. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
